Operation College Promise (OCP) originated as a passion project for me and a few "gung ho" colleagues at the New Jersey Association of State Colleges and Universities. Our primary aim was to raise awareness about available resources for transitioning services because, frankly, veterans were not accessing the benefits they had rightfully earned and deserved. Initially, we faced similar challenges, but during our lunch breaks and weekends, we tirelessly sought out these resources. Our efforts were recognized when we were awarded the American Council on Education/Walmart "Success for Veterans Grant."
Following the success of our inaugural "Certificate for Veterans Service Providers" program, we quickly realized that the need extended far beyond New Jersey, leading to the establishment of 16 more programs across the country.
Our research endeavors included conducting the nation's first assessment of student veterans' progress towards degree completion in the Post-9/11 era. More recently, we have focused on understanding the impact of COVID-19 on military learners and the institutions that serve them.
In March of 2024, OCP recently inaugurated The Research Consortium, comprised of some of the nation's foremost thought leaders, aimed at studying the current challenges facing student veterans.
OCP is a well-known contributor to state and federal legislative initiatives,, recently independently launching the "VETeach" billl to support veterans seeking to enter the teaching position. The bill was singed into law on January 9th, 2024.

Collaboration, collaboration, collaboration – our cornerstone and strength. Our stability and status are a testament to the input and perseverance of hundreds of supporters. Every triumph belongs to them, and every initiative is rooted in giving back to those who have served in uniform. It's simply the right thing to do. From our local community to the Pentagon, we are grateful for over 17 years of unwavering support and partnership.
OCP would like to thank Jerry Smith and Monteigne Long for the opportunity to contribute to their Symposium. The Symposium is an annual event to raise awareness on resources and support for student veterans. Our Presentation: " Completing the Mission III: Assessing the Impact of the COVID Pandemic on Student Veterans," focused on the 2020 research to evaluate how IHLs can pivot to meet emerging needs generated by the pandemic.

This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
